Three Hicks Thomas Partners Named to Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Lawyers in America

Hicks Thomas is pleased to announce that partners John B. Thomas, Courtney E. Ervin and Robin L. Harrison have been named to the 2024 Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America guide, a listing of the most accomplished attorneys in the country. All three were recognized for their work in business litigation.

“It is very nice to be singled out and a pleasure to be recognized alongside Courtney and Robin,” said Mr. Thomas. “The biggest honor is the trust our clients put in us each and every day. To be recognized for that work is icing on the cake.”

In his fifth year on the Leading Lawyers listing, Mr. Thomas represents clients from a variety of industries, including energy companies, health care, banking and finance, manufacturing, sales, and transportation. He has been recognized by the prestigious Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America and Texas Super Lawyers. In 2023, he was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates, an exclusive group of the nation’s leading trial lawyers and judges.

Ms. Ervin focuses her practice on high-stakes commercial litigation. She has a wealth of experience handling energy-related and insurance coverage litigation, and her clients include businesses in industries such as oil and gas, energy, insurance and construction. Ms. Ervin has been honored by Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America and Texas Super Lawyers. She was recently named a Premier Women in Law by the Association of Women Attorneys-Houston.

Mr. Harrison, who is board certified in civil trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, focuses much of his practice on cases involving breach of fiduciary duties, breach of contract, misappropriation of trade secrets, fraud and misrepresentation, professional liability and business disputes. He has been recognized by Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America and Texas Super Lawyers.

First published in 2005, Lawdragon considers its Leading Lawyers guide a listing of the “500 lawyers of the year” and described this year’s honorees as “the hope and promise of America’s legal profession.”

Honorees are selected through extensive research focusing on lawyers that have had a substantive impact in their practice area. You can read more about the full list here.
