Hicks Thomas LLP is pleased to announce that 11 firm partners have earned recognition in the 2024 edition of Texas Super Lawyers, a highly respected legal listing that honors only 5% of attorneys in the state.
This year’s honorees include partners John B. Thomas, Stephen Barrick, John Deis, Courtney Ervin, Robin Harrison, Stewart Hoffer, Stephen Loftin, Paul Mitchell, Brian Pidcock, and Allen Rustay, who were recognized for excellence in business litigation. Partner John Shely was recognized for excellence in general litigation.
This is the 22nd consecutive year Mr. Thomas and Mr. Hoffer have been named to the Texas Super Lawyers list. It is also the seventh year in a row Mr. Harrison has earned a Super Lawyers “Top 100 Houston” designation, which positions him as one of the best business litigators in the city.
“We are extremely proud of this incredible group of litigators,” said Mr. Thomas. “We love the work we’re able to do for our clients, and while we do not do it for the accolades, it is always nice to be recognized, especially by our peers.”
Super Lawyers selects honorees using a multiphase selection process that includes peer nominations and evaluations combined with independent research. Candidates are evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Earlier this year, Super Lawyers named partners Allison Fisher, Kelsey Hope, and Colin Watterson to the 2024 list of Texas Rising Stars, an award that honors the top 2.5% of the state’s top young attorneys. To be considered, a lawyer must be under the age of 40 or have been practicing for less than 10 years.
The Super Lawyers honors are among several accolades that firm attorneys have earned recently. Earlier this month, 11 partners were named to the 2025 Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America guide. In August, 12 partners were recognized by The Best Lawyers in America and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch.
